I attended the Pink Ribbon Tea on 14 October 2025. It marked over 30 years of Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign. Whilst significant progress has been made, breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women globally according to the World Health Organisation.
In the UK, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 9 minutes, a man every day. By 2040, this will be 8 minutes for women.
Every year around 11,500 women and 90 men die from breast cancer; someone dies from breast cancer every 45 minutes; there is a critical need for research and education.
26% of South Asian women have never checked their breasts for signs of breast cancer with 19% not knowing how to and 2 in 3 women are not regularly checking themselves for signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
