Grace Academy comes to Parliament

On Monday 7 April 2014, Valerie met with three groups of students from Grace Academy in Parliament.

Valerie said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome Grace Academy to Parliament. As part of their visit they were taken on a tour of the Houses of Parliament. Their visit ended with a question and answer session with myself.”

“The three groups asked some insightful questions including asking about a typical week for a Member of Parliament. On Monday to Thursday I am in Parliament, holding the Government to account or raising issues that effect Walsall South. When I’m not in the Chamber I also sit on the Health Select Committee and the Regulatory Reform Committee. From Friday to Sunday I am in Walsall South attending local events, holding surgeries to meet constituents and dealing with their concerns.”

“Parliament’s Education Service aim is to inform, engage and empower young people to understand, and get involved in Parliament, politics and democracy. They offer year round events including Educational Visits to Parliament. I encourage all schools from Walsall South to visit Parliament.”
