“Our Childcare Plan for the next Parliament to help working parents has been launched. The rising costs of childcare is putting even more pressure on parents who are already struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.”
“I am delighted a future Labour Government will:
• Guarantee 25 hours free childcare every week for 3 and 4 year olds with working parents.
• Guarantee access to breakfast and after school clubs from 8am to 6pm through every primary school.
• Take action to ensure that every child receives quality care.”
“This will replace the current scandal in childcare we have seen under this Tory Government. There has been an increase in the costs of nursery places by 30 per cent combined with 35,000 fewer childcare places. There have also been cuts to Sure Start with 578 fewer childrens centres.”
