Supporting young people with Epilepsy

A second meeting of the APPG on Epilepsy was held on Tuesday 25 May 2021 to mark National Epilepsy Awareness Week. We discussed young people’s changing experiences of epilepsy care presented by Catherine Hodder of Young Epilepsy. Two young people shared their personal experiences of epilepsy care.

We need to  ensure epilepsy services are providing the necessary help and support for young people with epilepsy as they move from children to adult services. Unfortunately, too many people still feel uncomfortable about employing somebody with epilepsy. So this National Epilepsy Week, Epilepsy Action have launched an Employer toolkit, an online resource to help employers support employees with epilepsy: https://employers.epilepsy.org.uk.
