UK Youth Rocketry Challenge 2022

The Youth Rocketry Challenge is a competition to design and build a model rocket which can keep an egg intact from launch to landing. The Challenge is an excellent opportunity for young people to put their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills into action.

On Wednesday 23 February 2022 I met some of last year’s entrants at an event in Parliament. I am pictured above with two students from Epsom College, who achieved 3rd place in 2021. It was great to hear that they are going on to study Aerospace and Physics at university.

The competition can be entered for free by teams from schools and youth groups aged 11-18 years old across the UK, and the winning team will compete at the International Rocketry Challenge at Farnborough International Airshow this summer.

The deadline for entries is 11 March 2022. I would encourage all interested schools and youth groups to look at UK Youth Rocketry’s website for more details. This is available at:https://www.ukroc.com/.
