On Wednesday 30 October 2013, Valerie attended the 12th Celebration of Diwali at Westminster held in the Members Dining Room.
Valerie said:
“I was delighted to attend the celebration of Diwali organised at the House of Commons by the Hindu Forum of Britain. I would like to wish everyone a happy Diwali, happiness, peace and prosperity.”
“The event was attended by MPs from all parties. It was addressed by the Leader of the Opposition, Ed Miliband MP,The Attorney General Dominic Grieve; Shadow Chancellor, Ed Balls MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Chuka Umunna MP, Alok Sharma MP and Paul Uppal MP amongst others.”
“I am pleased that the celebration of Diwali has become an established annual event at Westminster and I would like to wish everyone celebrating a happy Diwali.”
