Valerie Backs Elderly Persons Social Centre in NatWest Community Force Funding Scheme

Valerie is backing the Palfrey-based Elderly Persons Social Centre in the NatWest CommunityForce funding competition.

Valerie said:
“I am pleased that the Elderly Persons Social Centre has entered the NatWest CommunityForce funding competition and I am sure that many people in Walsall will want to vote for them on the CommunityForce website.”

“If the centre gains enough votes, NatWest will donate £6000 towards its upkeep and ongoing work in the community.

“The Elderly Persons Social Centre in Palfrey carries out excellent work with older people in the area. People who might otherwise be isolated are able to socialise, celebrate the major religious festivals, join exercise classes and visit different parts of the country on daytrips. The Centre has over 100 members aged over 50 from various South Asian communities. But they are running out of funding.”

“I would encourage people to vote for the Centre which provides important services for our local area.”

NatWest CommunityForce is a new initiative set up by NatWest Bank. As part of the scheme, NatWest will be working with local communities to support the people, projects and charities making a real difference to people across the country.

People can vote for the Centre’s application from Monday 26 September 2011 by clicking here.
