Valerie meets with the Reverend Jesse Jackson

On Wednesday 14th December 2011, Valerie attended a lunch at the House of Commons to celebrate the 70th birthday of the Reverend Jesse Jackson.

The dinner was attended by MPs from all parties to recognise Reverend Jackson’s work campaigning for civil rights in the United States and around the world.

Valerie said:

“It was an enormous honor to be able to meet with Jesse Jackson and to attend the lunch given to celebrate his 70th Birthday. The Reverend Jackson’s work as a civil rights activist over the past 50 years has benefited many people in the United States and around the world.”

“I hope that the Reverend Jackson’s work will inspire young people to campaign against racism, inequality and injustice and to stand up for what is right.”
