On Wednesday 24 June 2014, Valerie met with the Parliamentary delegation from Sudan at the House of Commons.
Valerie said:
“I was pleased to meet with the delegation of women members of parliament from Sudan as part of a visit arranged by the British Group of the Inter Parliamentary Union (BGIPU). Visits such as this play an important part in how parliaments from different countries work towards democracy. We discussed how countries part of the IPU and the Commonwealth can share expertise and experience. The Staff at the IPU ensure there is a wide range of activities and meetings for the delegation and I found the meeting very useful as to how the excellent women MPs undertake their work for their constituents and country.”
