I took part in the #5050TeeChallenge on 2 March 2019, ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March.
The initiative is being run by 50:50 Parliament, which campaigns for more equal representation in parliament – currently men outnumber women 2:1. The organisation aims to inspire women to stand for election and raise awareness of this disparity in the proportion of men and women in Westminster.
The 50:50 Parliament team are currently supporting more than 400 women in their attempt to stand for parliament.
