The House of Commons voted on motions to approve the following regulations on 2 April 2025:
1 The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2025 were first laid before the House of Commons on 4 March 2025, and enable market surveillance authorities properly to enforce the latest EU rules which apply in Northern Ireland, ensuring legal consistency and fulfilling the UK’s international obligations.
In a deferred division, the motion passed : Ayes 349 Noes 14.
2 The Infrastructure Planning (Onshore Wind and Solar Generation) Order 2025 was first laid before the House of Commons on 10 March 2025, and increases the threshold at which solar projects are determined as Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP) and to reintroduces onshore wind into the NSIP regime.
The motion passed : Ayes 307 Noes 100.
3 The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 were first laid before the House of Commons on 10 February 2025 and increase the notice period from 3 to 10 clear working days to cancel a category B (car) practical driving test appointment without losing the fee paid. These Regulations also correct some minor drafting errors made to the 1999 Regulations by the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No.3) Regulations 2021.
The motion passed: Ayes 304 Noes 101.
