On Tuesday 7 July 2021, I presented a petition about the Sprint route car park on behalf of my constituents.

On Monday 5 July 2021, the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill  recieved its Third Reading by Ayes: 365 – Noes: 265. This Bill would make significant changes across the criminal justice system. It includes provisions to amend police powers and how the police are supported to do their job preventing and detecting crime. The Bill would also make significant changes to how offenders are dealt with including major reforms to “out of court disposals”, changes to sentencing law and changes to how offenders are managed in the community. 

I appeared on BBC Politics Midlands on Sunday 4 July 2021. We discussed the impact of coronavirus on schools, lifting restrictions and taser usage following the Dalian Atkinson court case sentencing.

I have written to the Secretary of State for Transport on behalf of blind and partially sighted people in my constituency regarding safety measures at Walsall Railway Station.

A second Opposition Day Debate was held on protecting Britain’s steel industry. The British steel industry produces 7 million tonnes of crude steel a year, around 70% of the UK’s annual requirement. 96% of steel used in construction and infrastructure in the UK is recovered and recycled to be used again and again.
