Press Releases
Keep updated with the latest news locally, media coverage and news from Parliament.
"The Vaisakhi celebrations in Walsall are well supported by the local community. It was wonderful to see so many people march in the streets for the three-mile parade that started and ended at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in West Bromwich Street."
"This is my selfie with Vicki Phipps the founder/director of her brilliant shop in Darlaston High Street. Vikki had the excellent idea to set up a shop with gifts and useful products, Daily Living Aids for people with Dementia and for older people. The shop is light, bright and with a great display of products. There is an automatic pill dispenser, jigsaws, a yellow clock where people may find it hard to distinguish a clock from a light colour background. I particularly like the day night clock where a moving picture changes from sun to moon depending on the time of day.
"I visited the Minhaj Pleck Youth Club to talk to some young members of the club and their parents. I spoke about how I got into politics and the values of the Labour Party. I also spoke about the work I have done over the past 5 years in Parliament and addressed the importance of engagement of young people in politics."
"Only labour will build 200,000 more homes a year by 2020, is committed to affordable housing and will scrap the bedroom tax."
"It was wonderful to meet so many local residents on Saturday at the Labour Street Stalls in Walsall Town Centre and Darlaston Town Centre. I was with former Cllr Bill Madeley, Cllr Keith Chambers, Cllr Ian Robertson and Cllr Doug James on the stall."
