No Comments“I and residents have consistently opposed development on the Green Belt in the Black Country Plan. In my submission to the Consultation in October 2021 I called for all Green Belt sites to be removed, including at Calderfields West adjacent to the Arboretum.

“I encourage all interested schools and youth groups to register for the UK Youth Rocketry Challenge by 11 March. The Challenge is a competition to design and build a model rocket which can keep an egg intact from launch to landing, and is an excellent opportunity for young people to put their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills into action.

“I am deeply concerned about the McLean Report on the behaviour of Professor Loughton and Professor Field. It would have helped not to have had a huge turnover in leadership when the Professors arrived at the Trust. Several members of the Board, who could have held them to account, moved on within months of Professors Loughton and Field coming into post.

“At a meeting with residents to discuss plans for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on Green Belt land off Chapel Lane, my constituents raised their concerns on the proposed BESS on Green Belt land and are strongly opposed to this inappropriate development.”
“Anesco, the company proposing to develop the BESS, have not been transparent in their communication with residents. Despite contacting Anesco, many constituents complained about a lack of response from the company.”

“I am delighted and send my congratulations to all students in Walsall receiving their A Level and BTEC results. Our Students have worked exceptionally hard in challenging circumstances – they should be very proud of all they have achieved this year and I wish them the very best of luck for the future. Thank you to all the teaching staff and the parents in Walsall South supporting them.
