Keep updated with the latest news locally, media coverage and news from Parliament.
On Tuesday 17 November 2015 the Science & Technology Committee, of which I am a member, held an inquiry to understand the balance between the benefits and risks of big data. Here is the exchange of questions with the first panel of witnesses:
On Wednesday 18 November 2015 I attended the inaugural Skills and Development Awards at the House of Commons, arranged by the Federation of Wholesale Distributors.
I attended the House on Thursday 12 November 2015 to hear the Prime Minister of India who spoke to both Houses and guests in the Royal Gallery. Prime Minister Modi visited Parliament as part of his three-day official visit to the UK.
I have written to the Health Secretary over cuts to Walsall’s Public Health budget. World Diabetes Day is on 14 November 2015 and I recently joined actor Chizzy Akudolu from the BBC’s Holby City to raise awareness of diabetes, a major public health issue.
I would like to wish a very happy Diwali to all those celebrating the festival of lights. Diwali is a uniquely uniting festival which brings together people of different faiths: Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs, some Buddhists and also those who are of no faith.
