On Tuesday 16 October 2014, Valerie voted for the Equal Pay (Transparency) Bill.
On Monday 15 January 2014, Valerie voted to revoke the Government's regulations on firefighters' pensions.
Valerie has welcomed outcome of a consultation with local residents that Walsall Walk-in Centre will remain in the Town Centre until December 2015 but has called for this to be a permanent rather than an interim solution.
Valerie presented a petition to Parliament signed by over 400 local residents to calling for The Dentist Surgery on Liskeard Road in Park Hall to offer NHS Dental Services.

Valerie intervened in a Westminster Hall Debate on Thursday 4 December 2014 on Small Business Saturday which is to take place on 6 December 2014.
On Thursday 4 December 2014, the House of Commons Governance of the House Committee, of which Valerie is a member, heard evidence from Rt Hon Lord Judge, former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales; Sir Kevin Tebbit, KCB CMG and David Orr, external member of the Restoration and Renewal Programme Board.
Valerie Vaz, Member of Parliament for Walsall South, has tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM) supporting John’s Campaign. This campaign was started by Nicci Gerrard and is campaigning for the right for family representatives to stay with relatives who suffer from dementia when they are in hospital.
