On Tuesday 22 July 2014, Valerie raised flawed council consultations and health issues in Parliament during the Pre-Recess Adjournment Debate.
Valerie is encouraging everyone to register to vote following the implementation of Individual Electoral Registration. For the first time it is now possible to register to vote online.
On Tuesday 22 July 2014, Valerie asked the Minister of State for the Foreign Office, Rt. Hon. Hugo Swire MP, for an update on Burma.
Valerie signed the Remembering Srebrenica Book of Pledges in commemoration of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide.
On Monday 7 July 2014 Valerie spoke at Elderly Care 2014, a conference organised by the British Journal of Hospital Medicine. The conference focused on the clinical implications of ageing and its relevance to practice. Valerie was asked to talk about what lessons should be learnt from the Francis Inquiry report.
On Friday 11 July 2014, Valerie met with residents and a representative from the Post Office after the Post Office on Burns Road, Moxley was closed a replaced by a Post Office at Kendrick Road, Moxley.
Valerie supported a campaign run by the charity The Reading Agency to encourage all primary school children to join their local library and take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge - the UK’s largest reading for pleasure promotion for primary school children.
