On Tuesday 16 October 2014, Valerie voted for the Equal Pay (Transparency) Bill.
On Monday 15 January 2014, Valerie voted to revoke the Government's regulations on firefighters' pensions.
Valerie has welcomed outcome of a consultation with local residents that Walsall Walk-in Centre will remain in the Town Centre until December 2015 but has called for this to be a permanent rather than an interim solution.
Valerie presented a petition to Parliament signed by over 400 local residents to calling for The Dentist Surgery on Liskeard Road in Park Hall to offer NHS Dental Services.
On Tuesday 9 December 2014, the Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, heard evidence for the Committee's inquiry into Public Expenditure from the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Health; Una O’Brien CB, Permanent Secretary, Department of Health; Richard Douglas CB, Director General, Finance and NHS, Department of Health; and Simon Stevens, Chief Executive Officer, NHS England.
