On Tuesday 10 June 2014, Valerie attended a meeting with women members of the Kenyan parliament.
On Monday 9 June 2014, Valerie gave a speech in the House of Commons at the Queen's Speech debate. Valerie called into question the Government’s claims of building a stronger economy and a fairer society.
On Sunday 8 June 2014 Valerie was a guest on the BBC Sunday Politics West Midlands Show. Topics for discussion included the Queen's Speech, Garden Cities, Modern Slavery, the recent Local and European Elections, Fire Service Control Rooms and the Trojan Horse School Controversy.
